Gems of India: Unforgettable Journey on Iron Wheels aboard Maharajas’ Express

The Maharajas’ Express has introduced 5 brand new itineraries for the season starting September 2012. Out of these, ‘Gems of India’ itinerary has already become popular among travelers worldwide for its short journey period. The itinerary, which spans over just 3 nights and 4 days, is best suited for those who have limitless resources but limited time. Covering the Golden Triangle Circuit, the luxury train would take the guests across Delhi, Agra, Ranthambore and Jaipur, and would conclude in Delhi itself. The key attractions of the trip include a visit to the mesmerizing Taj Mahal – the eternal symbol of love; and an excursion into the wilderness of the Ranthambore National Park. Following are the places the itinerary would cover:

Delhi- The whirlwind journey of Gems of India would start from the country capital Delhi, famous for its intermingling of diverse cultures and traditions. The capital city Delhi is dotted with monuments and world heritage sites that include Red Fort, Jama Masjid, Qutub Minar, Humayun’s Tomb etc. All these medieval structures are brilliant examples of Mughal architectural forms. Once the hunting ground of the Maharajas, Ranthambore was declared a national park in the year 1973. At present, Ranthambore is one of the finest tiger reserves in the world. Apart from tigers, this national park offers shelter to various other wild inhabitants that include sambar, nilgai, chital, chinkara, wild boar, sloth bear, hyena, jackal and leopard.
